Abilene, TX – The Joplin Outlaws are officially the 2025 Mid-America League Baseball Champions, capping off a remarkable 50-16 season with an impressive postseason performance in Abilene. The Outlaws showcased grit, consistency, and offensive firepower in their playoff run, overcoming every challenge en route to the title.
Joplin’s path to the championship was anything but easy, as every playoff matchup in Abilene delivered heart-pounding moments and high-stakes drama. With each contest either decided by a single run or swinging back and forth with multiple lead changes, they thrived under pressure. The Outlaws delivered clutch hits and shutdown pitching when it mattered most, cementing their reputation as the league’s most balanced and resilient team.
Leading the charge was Murchael Turner, who earned MALB Playoff MVP honors after posting a .462 batting average, with 1 home run and 8 RBIs in the postseason. Turner’s timely hitting provided a crucial spark for Joplin’s offense throughout the series.
Fan support in Abilene was nothing short of electric, with an average of over 800 fans per game creating a postseason atmosphere to remember.
"We couldn't of been happier with the quality of games we saw at our post-season tournament in Abilene," said MALB Executive Director Nick Weisenborn. "Every game was either a 1-run game or had multiple lead changes, it just speaks to the level of players and competition we had in the MAL this year. I was also extremely impressed with Abilene as a playoff host. They averaged over 800 fans a game, and their fans were loud and active the whole series. We cannot wait to see what next year's championships will bring."
With a championship trophy in hand and a season record of 50 wins and 16 losses, the Joplin Outlaws have set the standard for excellence in the MALB. As the team celebrates their championship moment, fans and players alike are already looking forward to defending the title in 2026.
